In addition to the savory taste, prunes are an important source of vitamin A, C, K, potassium, and fiber. Consumed both in pure and dry form, the prunes contain two unique strong antioxidants, neochlorogenic and chlorogeno-phytogenic that destroy free radicals that attack human cells. The plum type we grow is Stanley. We chose it because the fruit is resistant to frost, is quite large ( ~38g), the flesh does not stick to the kernel and the final product is sweet, golden yellow and firm. It is harvested in mid-September.
